	Some months ago I was having a late dinner in the studio kitchen of the sculpture school when I noticed small mouse making its way down the human-sized staircase. What struck me was that the place it came from is the highest point of the ground floor, reachable only by a few steps that, from the outside, seem impossible for a mouse to overcome. Intrigued, I set up a night-vision camera in the days that followed and scattered breadcrumbs as bait. The mouse returned, and the recordings revealed its remarkable climbing abilities. I began constructing passages from cardboard tubes, enabling it to traverse the architectural barriers of the school.

The exhibition translates this encounter into spatial terms. A translucent plastic film divides the room vertically, transforming the entrance into a narrow passage that directs visitors along an altered route through the architecture, echoing the pathways once traced by the mouse. Other elements extend this narrative across the space, shifting the conditions and atmospheres of the Ping Pong basement, and presenting a site that draws attention to the interplay of above and below, the seen and unseen.

	The exhibition A Trap Well Laid by Luis Maria Sulzmann brings together various objects used in beekeeping businesses. These are tools and equipment for honey production that have been perfected over centuries to maximize yields. This capitalist and industrial approach views nature and living creatures as quantifiable resources, whose enhanced performance is expected to generate predictable growth and profit. Through the absence of insects, G10 Projektraum becomes a resonating chamber for the buzzing and eager activity of bees. Sulzmann questions the common human perspective—the anthropocentric point of view—and opens new fields of vision concerning an endangered group of insects.The works presented in G10 are reminiscent of readymades—industrially manufactured objects removed from their original context and presented as artworks without modification. A beehive modeled by Sulzmann is based on a historical and scientific 19th-century design. This model revolutionized beekeeping with its modular structure, allowing beekeepers to intervene directly and observe the honeycombs. It is surprising that this device is still in use today—it seems to signal a return to older practices. While contemporary technologies are evolving so rapidly it’s almost impossible to keep up, time appears to have stood still for the beehive; its form remains pre-industrial and pre-technological. Sulzmann's presentation appears objective. It is reminiscent of scientific textbooks, which promote a rational understanding of broader contexts while allowing for emotional detachment. However, upon closer inspection, unequal power dynamics are exposed: humans exploit nature as a resource for economic gain, repeatedly undermining the fundamental principles of life.

		<description>„Unifier“
collaborative work between Ida-Marie Simonsen and Luis Maria Sulzmanncurated by Emily Pretzsch and Mara Aiko and supported by Galerist Max Goelitz&#38;nbsp;

Text by Paula Maniscalco about „Unifier“ :two hundred wishbones arranged in the shape of one – radiating potential and promise. each piece dares viewers to participate in a ritual: break the bone, claim your wish. as the wishbones break, the installation shatters, spilling fragments into a basket – a collection of dreams now set free. each broken piece captures a moment of connection, a celebration of shared wishes transformed into shards of possibility. we see the fragility of dreams in the broken wishbones but also their resilience. what breaks does not disappear but leaves behind traces – embedded in the space and the shared consciousness. a threshold between the passing and the timeless. the space becomes a silent witness to this collective transformation. while participants come and go, the space is filled with the echoes of broken bones and the unspoken promises each wish carries. it evolves from a silent presence into a living being. the synergy between the two artists creates a form of collaboration in itself. as the participants engage in this act of wishing, their hopes intertwine, weaving a web of shared ambition. a testament to unity born through collaboration. breaking the wishbone is more than just a ritual: it is a declaration that our dreams – when unleashed together – can shatter boundaries and spark a revolution of inspiration&#60;img width="4000" height="4000" width_o="4000" height_o="4000" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/8202067f2672f859297309509853f3b135fbcda962166f544e31a60a33d141d8/_DSC2209.jpg" data-mid="229855537" border="0"  src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/8202067f2672f859297309509853f3b135fbcda962166f544e31a60a33d141d8/_DSC2209.jpg" /&#62;

		<description>“The last thing I saw was a red herring, now I’m stuck in limbo” at Bok gallery Offenbach, germany
&#60;img width="4000" height="2667" width_o="4000" height_o="2667" data-src="https://freight.cargo.site/t/original/i/0c318df4db11825726ad267972349b36039844befeffcc98304b6e7eecb6a80f/_DSC6754.jpg" data-mid="229854175" border="0"  src="https://freight.cargo.site/w/1000/i/0c318df4db11825726ad267972349b36039844befeffcc98304b6e7eecb6a80f/_DSC6754.jpg" /&#62;

Luis Maria Sulzmann’s and Jan Trinkaus first joint presentation at the BOK Gallery begins with programmatic sentences: “The last thing I saw was a red herring, now I’m stuck in limbo” - "Das letzte, was ich sah, war ein roter Hering, nun stecke ich in der Vorhölle fest." The Dadaist linguistic images are based on American idioms, where the red herring means something like a false lead. Are such leads also meant to be laid in the exhibition? Possibly... The ambiguity of the words is reflected in the works shown, which include mutual cross-references that are not always easy to decipher.The basis of mutual artistic approach is Sulzmann's work "to be left in limbo." The almost monochrome photo panels are not primarily about motifs: structures of a skull, a blue study of a woman, historicist ornamentation of an old portal. What they all share is a mysterious aura and a lot of atmosphere. Part of Sulzmann's concept is that the large formats are mounted in carefully lined-up stainless steel modules on the wall. The artist gives insight into his process: “First, I photograph motifs digitally, view them on the computer, and then photograph them analog again. Then it goes to the darkroom, where I experiment with exposure and development times on the film negative, add certain salts, and the like, resulting in solarized photo works, intentionally incorrect.” He doesn’t reveal much more about his experimental photographic art, which combines painterly depth and texture with restrained color. Curator Emily Pretzsch sums it up: "Sulzmann's artistic practice is rooted in an interest in atmospherically charged spaces. With a keen sense of perception and observation, he tries to capture moods with the medium of photography."Sulzmann has sparked his fellow student and former roommate Jan's interest in such works and now invited him to respond with his own perspective. Trinkaus has absorbed the large formats, creating small-format paper works in response. His delicate and meticulously executed pencil drawings initially resemble blueprints and constructions, strongly utilizing the method of shelf-like tiering and parallel shifting. He now calls his series "The Case of the Red Herring." The trails he lays for the viewer include number sequences like 1-2-3-4 or 2-4-1-3, movement studies reminiscent of dance step diagrams, drawing ideas and their derivation. Regarding his typical style of serializing graphic structures and processing, he says: “Normally I work with specific templates, which is not the case here. I navigate my systematic and orderly approach through the intuitions and processes of Sulzmann's works, also into their proportions, moods, and movements. This involves quite a bit of intellectual effort.” Somehow, what one sees here recalls the connections between philosophy, art, and information theory of great thinkers like Werner Leinfellner. Trinkaus does not know him. Even if one does not fully understand his thought systems, one can still appreciate the fine aesthetics of his visual language and discover more and more relationships between the two styles. Their encounter is nothing less than the rare art of intelligent rapprochement, which one would wish to see more often in other areas of society as well.Reinhold Gries

Luis Maria SulzmannHanau, Germany / 1998Lives and works in Copenhagen
My practice begins with photography, not only as a medium but as a way of thinking. I work through image-making and its technical and conceptual conditions. I’m interested in how objects and forms can be understood as images, how making can resemble photographic processes of imprinting, developing, and fixing. Part of the fascination of photography for me is that it produces something new from what is already there, an activity that feels closer to hunting and gathering than to invention.

I work conceptually and often site-specifically, responding to the spatial, architectural, and institutional conditions of a place. I see spaces not as neutral containers but as carriers of memory, where gestures, habits, and traces accumulate over time. Through subtle interventions, I aim to make visible things a space or institution does not fully recognize as part of itself.
