„Unifier“
collaborative work between Ida-Marie Simonsen and Luis Maria Sulzmann
curated by Emily Pretzsch and Mara Aiko and supported by Galerist Max Goelitz
Text by Paula Maniscalco about „Unifier“ :
two hundred wishbones arranged in the shape of one – radiating potential and promise. each piece dares viewers to participate in a ritual: break the bone, claim your wish. as the wishbones break, the installation shatters, spilling fragments into a basket – a collection of dreams now set free. each broken piece captures a moment of connection, a celebration of shared wishes transformed into shards of possibility. we see the fragility of dreams in the broken wishbones but also their resilience. what breaks does not disappear but leaves behind traces – embedded in the space and the shared consciousness. a threshold between the passing and the timeless. the space becomes a silent witness to this collective transformation. while participants come and go, the space is filled with the echoes of broken bones and the unspoken promises each wish carries. it evolves from a silent presence into a living being. the synergy between the two artists creates a form of collaboration in itself. as the participants engage in this act of wishing, their hopes intertwine, weaving a web of shared ambition. a testament to unity born through collaboration. breaking the wishbone is more than just a ritual: it is a declaration that our dreams – when unleashed together – can shatter boundaries and spark a revolution of inspiration
